She said Fly // Update #3
It’s been a while since the last update, a coming together of feeling inspired, feeling detached, trying to break in, trying to break out, having nothing to say, then too much combined to delay the tide. Slowly but surely the waves are starting to rise.
IN-FLIGHT – The song has got a lot to say – the conclusions are there to draw. Massive thanks to Dan for collaborating with us on the video and nice one to everyone who watched and shared it. Thanks to BBC Introducing WM for playing it and great to see it picking up votes on the BBC 6 Music Fresh on the Net listening post.
The fact this is NOT a band and never will be is extremely empowering, no limit, no boundary – the possibilities are literally endless. Music is just one part – the videos, artwork, words and photographs are equally important, as are all the new projects and concepts we have swirling around our minds.
Lions of Dissent is a vehicle for imagination, ideas, spontaneity and collaboration. A MOVEMENT IN FOLLOWING BELIEF.
Huge thanks to Simone Marie of Primal Scream for her recent support – particularly her consecutive plays of our latest tune DON’T LET THE DARKNESS IN. Her Naked Lunch show on Soho Radio is genuinely one of the best around, to be featured on it was huge for us.
The response to D.L.T.D.I has been fantastic – thanks to everyone who has got behind it – we’re only a week and a half in and it has already had consistent plays across Soundcloud and Youtube, and aired across a number of different radio shows – nice one to Mazzy on Brum Radio and BBC Introducing Shropshire.
It was an exciting process recording the song and making the video, and hopefully that comes across. Massive gratitude to everyone who was involved in helping us realise it – particularly the Lionesses for bringing the soul.
Music is not just a commodity, it is identity – join the revolt – together the outsiders can infiltrate the machine.
